Ms. Hatsis, a native New Yorker, is a Cum Laude graduate of the Molloy College of Nursing. In 1985 she received her certification as an Ophthalmic Technician from the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology. She trained with Dr. Alexander Hatsis for sixteen years in general ophthalmology, specializing in refractive surgery.

Originally, Ms. Hatsis worked as an Optometric Assistant in a private office, moving on to do various job functions in an optical laboratory, before beginning her career in ophthalmology.

She has also been involved as a Clinical Research Coordinator for several FDA investigational studies since 1985.  Ms. Hatsis will be eligible, and plans to take, the CCRA examination in March of 2007.

Ms. Hatsis moved to Florida to join the Katzen Eye Care and Laser Center in West Palm Beach as a Refractive Specialist. She began lecturing nationally in 1999 and is now a regular speaker at annual meetings of the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Refractive Surgery. In 2005, after volunteering 5 continuous years of continuing education lectures, she was presented the 5-Year Faculty Award by the Joint Commission on Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology, and in June of that same year was named Alumnus of the Month by her alma mater, Molloy College. She was also a nurse consultant member of the Clinical Advisory Board for Becton Dickenson Surgical Company and Medvance, Inc.

Eyes On Research Consulting is an incorporated business that Ms. Hatsis started in the beginning of 2005 to provide national and international on-site monitoring services.  Ms. Hatsis is also available as a consultant to evaluate a practice to determine its ability to perform ophthalmic clinical trials, or to provide guidance and counseling regarding regulatory issues to practices that are in the process of performing trials, but having problems with study coordination, recruitment or teamwork.

Ms. Hatsis also provides consultative services with regard to aseptic technique and cost control for refractive surgery practices looking to increase the safety, efficiency and outcomes of their laser/surgery suite.
